BTW, a -416 head's chamber looks squared off like a W/P's 305 torquer or a stock smog head whereas the -601 looks like a smaller, rounder, old -461 double-hump type chamber with a double quench in it. The power-packs had restrictive intake ports and a poor flame travel via the combustion chamber. I kick the chambers out to 58cc and retain the 1.84-1.50 valves. Back cut them if you can and raise the exhaust runner a bit. You must check retainer to seal or retainer to guide clearance. Next best would be the 416, 305 heads with 58cc chambers, and do the same modifications for the 601's.
